RVers Online Site Re-Visited, 03/2021

To our own surprise, news of the demise of this website have turned out to be premature. In 2019 we very reluctantly sold our "last" RV. We had been RVers for many decades, being serious RVers since 1987, with various earlier phases of camping, tent camping, and truck camping. We began this website in the mid-1990s, when the terms "RVers" and "Online" coupled together seemed to describe the perfect oxymoron. Over the years the units we owned trended larger. Then peaked, and became smaller. And then it was over. What to do with the website?

We'd concluded we would keep for a period of time the domain names -- rversonline.org, and rversonline.com -- but discontinue our annual hosting service contract. The site would simply disappear, despite the fact many of the materials we've published over the time are ageless. In particular, the lifetime of RVing reflected in Stephanie's Postcards. The site was referenced with links from thousands of places on the Internet. But as we were no longer RV owners we felt it was time to let go...

But things have changed dramatically since the Spring of 2020. The consequences are both immediate and far reaching into the future. We no longer publish from the best platform in the world, the cockpit of the RV. However, this website now has the potential to leap forward an entire generation, and add focus and content from the perspective of those who are just now discovering the RV lifestyle. And it's our good fortune to keep both the site and the domain names "in the family". We hope to report further on this in the months ahead. But most of all, we're hoping you'll hear this not from us, but rather from that next generation that sees the potential for integrating the benefits of RVing with an active work lifestyle.

So we've rebuckled the cyber-seatbelts, and invite you to do the same. We hope you'll enjoy this new ride ahead!

Tom & Stephanie
